A hand shake with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal proved costly for a man as a pickpocket relieved him of Rs 13,950 on Friday.

According to police, the victim Punesh Jaibhansingh Uike (48), resident of Bhilgaon, Shivdas Colony, Nagpur was watching Arvind Kejriwal’s rally on Indora Square Cement Road. When Kejriwal’s motorcade reached near the spot where Punesh Uike was standing, he went ahead to shake hands with Kejriwal in the crowd. At the same time a pickpocket took the advantage of the situation and removed Rs 13,950 from Punesh Uike’s pocket. Though Punesh succeeded in shaking hands with Kejriwal, the over enthusiasm cost him dear as he lost the cash. He lodged a complaint with Pachpaoli Police Station in this connection. The Pachpaoli PSI Deotale booked the pickpocket under Section 379 of the IPC and is probing the matter further.
