Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar’s Bollywood debut has kept the grapevine buzzing for some time now. And now it looks like he will blaze onto the big screen with another headline grabbing star kid, Jhanvi Kapoor.
Recent reports have claimed that Karan Johar has signed up Ishaan for his ambitious Hindi remake of Sairat, the blockbuster Marathi hit which made superstars out of debutants Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar.
Both Jhanvi and Ishaan are already social media stars. With close to 30,000 Instagram followers, the 21-year-old brother of Shahid Kapoor already a recognisable face. After mom Neelima Azeem confirmed that he will follow his elder brother’s footsteps and enter Bollywood, film enthusiasts were excited to see which film would be Ishaan’s launch vehicle.
Earlier reports had claimed that he will be launched by Karan Johar in Student Of The Year 2, followed by rumours that he will feature in The Fault In Our Stars remake opposite Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan.
And now buzz is, it will be the Hindi remake of Sairat. Though the original was a love story set in rural Maharashtra marred by the forces of caste and class, both Jhanvi and Ishaan are slick city kids.
