Nagpur: Crime Branch of Nagpur Police on Monday swooped on a posh locality and busted a sex racket being run from an apartment. The mastermind of the racket has been arrested and a victim girl was rescued.
The sleuths of Crime Branch received a tip off that the kingpin of sex racket Manoj alias Monu Arjun Ghanshani (25), resident of Indora, Block No. 49/B, Barakholi, was indulging in luring the girls with hefty money and bringing them to a rented flat in Nawab Layout, Tilak Nagar, in his car. The girls were then detained in the flat and forcibly pushed in the flesh trade. The sleuths, after confirming the tip off, apprised the Additional Police Commissioner Shrikant Tarwade, DCP Deepali Masirkar and ACP Nilesh Raut about the sex racket.
On their directives, a team of Crime Branch cops, led by PI Bajirao Powar, APIs Amita Jaipurkar, and Yogesh Choudhary, raided the flat in Tilak Nagar and first rescued a victim girl. Later, the mastermind behind the sex racket Manoj alias Monu Arjun Ghanshani was taken into custody.
The accused Manoj was booked under Section 370 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 of Prevention of Illegal Trafficking Act 1956. Further investigation are underway to ascertain other links in the high-profile sex racket.
