The complainant, Sheikh Afsar Sheikh Afzal (43), had locked his house and gone with his family to his in-laws’ place for an overnight stay. Further sustained questioning revealed his involvement in six other offences, including one vehicle theft and two housebreak-ins within Pardi police station limits, two vehicle thefts under Shantinagar police station, and one vehicle theft in Pachpaoli police station jurisdiction, taking the total to seven crimes.
Police have recovered stolen property worth Rs 2.67 lakh from the accused, including gold and silver ornaments, imitation jewellery, a Samsung mobile phone, a wristwatch, a leather school bag, used clothes, and three stolen two-wheelers, a white Activa scooter (MH-31 CW 4644), a motorcycle (MH-49 AY 4043) and a white 3G moped (MH-49 Z 1203).
