Septuagenarian man, two youths killed in separate accidents

Nagpur News : A septuagenarian man and two others were killed in separate accidents under the jurisdiction of MIDC and Gittikhadan police station on Thursday and early Friday.

In the first case, an unidentified speedy and uncontrolled vehicle hit a septuagenarian man and resulted in her death. The deceased has been identified as Madhav Ashwin Rai (75), a resident of Pardhi Nagar, Hingna Road. On Thursday, Madhav was on foot when an unidentified vehicle hit him near Pardhi Nagar, Hingna Road and injured him seriously. Some passerby rushed him to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital but doctors declared him dead after preliminary treatment.

MIDC police reached the scene after being informed and registered a case against the unidentified vehicle owner under Sections 279, 304 (a) read with sub sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act.

In another hit-n-run case, two youths were killed early Friday in a road mishap under Gittikhadan police station area. The deceased Pranay Kishor Suryawanshi (23) and Kapil Wasudev Gourkhede (22) were riding on their Yamaha bike (MH 31 EB 5992) from new Katol Naka Square. An unidentified speedy and uncontrolled vehicle their bike at around 4 am on Friday. Fearing police arrest, the ‘killer’ vehicle owner sped away from the scene. However, morning walkers noticed the injured Pranay and Kapil and informed Gittikhadan police.

Cops immediately reached the crime scene and performed panchanama. Later, the bodies were sent for post mortem. Pranay was a resident of Republican Nagar, Jaripatka while Kapil was a resident of Maya Nagar, Indora. Cops have launched a manhunt for the vehicle owner.
