Senior citizen loses land worth Rs. 36 lakhs to forgery

Nagpur News: Three men forged land ownership documents and duped a man off his plot of land near Nagpur, making a profit of Rs. 36 lakhs in the process.

The accused Avinash Lakshman Deotale (45), a resident of North Ambazari, Vijay alias Hemant Vamanrao Mutte (41), an Ambazari Layout resident and Naresh Rakhyaji Gaikwad (42), a resident of Imamwada, reportedly approached Pandharinag Vitthobaji Shidame (83), a resident of Dhaba, with false papers staking claim over Shidame’s six- acre plot of land near Mauja Dhaba. The victim felt compelled to give away his land, which the accused them sold off for a big amount.

Realising his error, Shidame filed a complaint with Gittikhadan Police, who have registered a case under Sections 420, 468, 471 and 34 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). Further investigations are underway.
