Nagpur: Agro & Rural Development Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association has joined hands with Grant Thornton India LLP is organizing a full day Seminar on “Opportunities for SMEs in Food Processing Sector” on Wednesday, November 26, 2016 from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm at Chitnavis Centre, Temple Road, Civil Lines, Nagpur. Keeping in tune with the “Make in India” initiative by Government of India, the Ministry of Food Processing has been undertaking various steps that have created abundant opportunities in the sector.

The objective of the seminar is to communicate to the SMEs in the Vidarbha region, the immense potential / opportunities emerging in the Food Processing sector. Vidarbha is forerunner in the field of production of food grains, horticulture, milk, etc. in the country. Cotton, Pulses, Soyabean, Wheat, Rice in food grains crops and Oranges and other various horticultural crops are being produced in large scale in the region. Bulk of the fruits and vegetables, food grains, pulses and milk produced in the region is consumed fresh without processing. Vidarbha has immense opportunities for development, investment and employment generation in the field of food processing. The diversified and suitable agro-climatic conditions are capable of making available the enormous opportunities for raising the produce in geometrical progression and value addition to production for establishing a profitable venture.

The seminar is designed to be highly interactive and will delve upon the various facets of setting up of food processing unit. All queries and doubts put forth by SMEs will be answered in complete detail. The event also provides opportunity for Food Processors, Technology Suppliers, Consultants and Service Providers to exhibit their products or services.
