Nagpur Rural Police conducted a raid at a hotel in the Patansawangi area of Saoner taluka after receiving information about alleged suspicious activities, triggering discussion across the locality.
The action was carried out at Hotel S.P., located on Saoner Road near Pandurang Road. During the raid, police detained three women from the premises, while several male customers reportedly fled through the back exit after sensing the police presence.
According to local sources, residents had been raising concerns over suspicious activities at the hotel for several days. Social activists and journalists had also reportedly highlighted the matter earlier. Senior journalist Ravikant Kamble had previously drawn attention to the alleged activities through multiple reports.
The operation was conducted based on confidential inputs received by Nagpur Rural Police, Local Crime Branch (LCB) officials, local beat marshals, and a special police team. Officers inspected the hotel premises and recorded several suspicious findings as part of the ongoing investigation.
Sources further claimed that certain middlemen and connected individuals were allegedly trying to prevent a formal case from being registered. However, police officials are said to be treating the matter seriously and continuing the probe.
The incident has once again raised concerns over the alleged rise of illegal and immoral activities in rural areas around Nagpur, with local residents demanding strict action from authorities.
