Saoner/Nagpur: On the eve of Independence Day, Saoner witnessed a grand tricolour bike rally led by BJP MLA Ashish Deshmukh. The streets were flooded with waving flags, patriotic chants echoed through the air, and national pride was on full display. However, amidst this celebration, traffic rules were blatantly ignored.

MLA Deshmukh was seen riding a duty police officer’s motorcycle without wearing a helmet, even performing a stunt. A video of the act has gone viral on social media. Shockingly, the bike belonged to an on-duty police officer, who allowed the MLA to ride the government vehicle without a helmet.

Many other participants in the rally were also spotted riding without helmets, turning the event into a parade of traffic violations rather than a disciplined patriotic display.

Key Questions Raised After the Incident

  • Does being an elected representative give one a free pass to break traffic rules?
  • Will there be action against the police officer who allowed his official bike to be used in violation of safety norms?
  • Should political spectacle outweigh public safety?

While the rally was meant to showcase patriotism, it ultimately sent the wrong message — that even lawmakers can ignore laws. The Saoner Tricolour Rally has now become a topic of public debate, remembered more for rule-breaking than for its patriotic spirit.
