Prem Ratan Dhan Payo releases today and the trade is quite excited about its box-office prospects. Being a Diwali release and a Salman Khan film, even fans are looking forward to it. Multiplex owners have decided to run multiple shows of the film during the day to cater to public demand.

In an exclusive conversation a daily newspaper, Salman spoke about the predictions. “How can anyone predict anything? How can you predict that so many people are going to watch the film? Till the time the advance bookings have not started, how would you know? There are predictions that it’s going to make Rs 30 crore or Rs 40 crore on opening day.

Who knows when people want to watch the film? May be people don’t want to watch it on the first day. May be they want to watch it on the third day. Some may also think that Friday, Saturday and Sunday bahut bheed hogi, so let’s go on a Monday. So you can’t predict anything,” reasoned Salman.

He further added, “How can people predict a number? I don’t understand this, that there is no study or research for this. I think the only films that do well are the films where people are impatient to watch it. Fortunately, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is one such film.”

Reportedly, with 5000 screens worldwide, PRDP is set to become the biggest release ever.
