Nagpur: Sadar police on Tuesday busted a bogus document racket and arrested two members of a gang including a woman. Cops are searching for other member of the gang.
Cops had received tip-offs that certain dubious persons were active in preparing fake documents in the premises of important Government offices. Subsequently, cops kept a close watch at the offices of Deputy Collector, Nayab Tehsildar and Chief Executive Officer. Soon the police found three suspicious persons and frisked them. To the surprise of the policemen, a number of bogus caste certificates, income certificates and affidavits that too with fake signatures and seals of Deputy Collector, Nayab Tehsildar and Chief Executive Officer were found in possession of the three accused. The three members of the gang were identified as Sandhya Ramchandra Awale (39), resident of Plot No. 63, Anant Nagar, Yogesh Gopaldas Markande (19), resident of Vijay Nagar, Kalamna and one accused named Rishi (30).
According to police, the three accused gang members run a racket of bogus documents and even prepared fake seals of the top officials. The accused would furnish the fake documents to needy at a premium cost.
Sadar PSI Jandade, based on a complaint filed by Abha Vinay Borkar (35), resident of Hingna Road, booked the accused gang members Sandhya Ramchandra Awale, Yogesh Gopaldas Markande, and Rishi under Sections 465, 468, 473, 34 of IPC and managed to arrest Sandhya and Yogesh. Cops have mounte a search to nab Rishi and if possible other members of the gang.
