Rural Police slaps MCOCA on Organized gang head Mohammed Latif

The Nagpur Rural Police on July 11, 2014 slapped Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999 against the chief of organized gang Mohammed Latif alias Mohammed Hafiz Ansari for running a gang in Parshivni.

The accused Mohammed Latif alias Mohammed Hafiz Ansari had tried to murder a Police Official Gaurav Singh by dashing his vehicle on June 26, 2014 under the Parshivni Police Station’s jurisdiction. The Parshivni Police registered a case under Crime No 64/14 and under section 307 of IPC. The accused  Mohammed Latif alias Mohammed Hafiz Ansari was arrested for this crime on June 30, 2014.

The accused Mohammed Latif alias Mohammed Hafiz Ansari is said to have been instrumental in committing various violent crimes for financial gains in an organized manner in collusion with his associates in the district.

The police slapped Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999 on the accused Mohammed Latif alias Mohammed Hafiz Ansari when inspite of many serious crimes registered against the accused by the Nagpur Rural, Nagpur City Commissionerate, Chandrapur District under various sections of IPC and observing no change in his criminal behavior. Superintendent of Police Dr Arti Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police Prakash Jadhav had handed over the investigation of the accused to Police Inspector of the Local Crime Branch Jayesh Bhandarkar and ordered to start the proceeding under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999 against him. Police Inspector Jayesh Bhandarkar of the Local Crime Branch (Nagpur Rural), after investigating thoroughly and after gathering all the documents pertaining to his criminal activities in the district, submitted a proposal to initiate action under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999 against the organized gang head Mohammed Latif alias Mohammed Hafiz Ansari and his active partner in crime Ramsevak Pancham on July 5, 2014. He had submitted the proposal of to the Superintendent of Police, Nagpur Rural Dr Arti Singh.

Since a proposal was made for an action to be initiated against the accused Mohammed Latif alias Mohammed Hafiz Ansari and his active gang member Ramsewak Pancham is under Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999, Special Inspector General of Police, Nagpur Division, gave permission to prosecute the accused under MCOCA on July 10, 2014.

Having received permission to initiate action against the accused under MCOCA, PI Jayesh Bhandarkar initiated MCOCA against the accused and based on the rules of MCOCA, further investigations will be handled by Sub Inspector of Police of Ramtek Division PSI Dr Salunke.

Since Superintendent of Police Dr Arti Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police Prakash Jadhav, initiated MCOCA against the accused duo, other criminals in Khaperkheda Police Station, in Khapa Police Station, the Sand Mafia in Kanhan, Land Mafia and other criminal have suddenly became alert and cautious. The common citizens are finally feeling safe and secure by this action by the crime branch.
