Rural Police seize 3,000 litres of blue kerosene meant for PDS

Nagpur: Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Rural Police has seized 3,000 litres of blue kerosene from a house meant for public distribution through ration card. Acting of a tip off, a team of LCB raided a house in Gondakhairi Barad village and noticed eight drums containing 1,600 litres of blue kerosene loaded on a Mahindra Bolero vehicle (MH-40/N-2610) and 1,400 litres of kerosene in seven drums stored in the house. The police immediately seized the drums, the bolero vehicle from the spot.

A police officer informed that accused Ramsing Yadav, a resident of Ravi Nagar, Nagpur was procuring kerosene from traders and selling it at a higher price. Total cost of the kerosene was Rs5.7lakh.The police have arrested Vickey RamchandraYadav(20) and Ramsingh Yadav (60), both residents of Ravi Nagar, Nagpur. Accused driver Raja Yadav (23) managed to flee the spot after the police raid.

An offence was registered against the accused at Kalmeshwar Police under Sections 3 and 7 of Essential Commodities Act. The cops will investigate involvement of Government officials and traders in the racket. In another raid, the LCB team have seized 576 bottles of country-made liquor worth Rs 46,000 from a car (MH-31/CA-2162).

The police have arrested Tejrao Devrao Dhapodkar (32) and Chandrashekhar Vinayak Dhapodkar (23), both residents of Patansaongi. The arrest was made by Police Inspector Sanjay Purandare, PSI Narendra Gaurkhede and staff Jaiprakash Sharma, Baba Keche, Chandrashekhar Gadekar, PramodBansod,Ramesh Bhoyar and ASI Sahebrao.
