Nagpur News: The Crime Branch of Nagpur Rural Police, in a major breakthrough, arrested an inter-state marijuana (Ganja) smuggler who was wanted by Delhi police since past three years. His arrested was effected in Ranala Kamptee.
The arrested smuggler Durgaprasad Bawri Bisoi, (31), is native of Sambalpur in Odisha. Durgaprasad is in most wanted list of Delhi police as he dodged them several times in the past three years. Durgaprasad has many offence registered against him by Delhi, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh police under Narcotics and Drugs Act for smuggling of marijuana, cocaine etc. However, Durgaprasad always found himself out of reach of the Delhi, Odisha and Uttra Pradesh police and dodged them whenever a chance came their way to arrest him. The hardcore smuggler changed his name and places frequently thus putting the police in helpless situations.

However, the lady luck started deserting Durgaprasad the day he arrived in Nagpur to spread his drug network in the city and district and negotiate a big deal. The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police got a whiff of his presence in the city and rural areas of the district. The Police Inspector of Crime Branch Rajan Pali, API Dinesh Labade, PSI Prashant Bharte, police constables Dilip Lanjewar, Pramod Radheshyam, Pankaj and Mudassar laid a trap in Mominpura where Durgaprasad was staying. Police wanted to arrest him red-handed while “fixing” the big deal. But for some reasons the deal did not take place.
The Crime Branch constantly kept a sharp eye on Durgaprasad’s movements and when the smuggler stepped in Ranala, Kamptee, the police laid a siege in a well-planned way and nabbed him while he was in the process of the deal.
The Crime Branch then informed the Delhi police about the prized catch. The Delhi police immediately came to Nagpur and contacted the Crime Branch of Nagpur Rural Police and took Durgaprasad’s custody. They returned to Delhi but with the most wanted criminal. Delhi police were on the verge of announcing a reward for information of Durgaprasad’s whereabouts but the smuggler was arrested in the nick of the time.
