Rural cops raid 3 gambling dens, nab 7 people, seize cash and other stuff worth Rs 1,71,100

Nagpur: Rural police on Tuesday raided at three gambling dens in three different areas and arrested seven gamblers. Cops also seized cash, mobile phones, gambling material and four motorcycles collectively worth Rs 1,76,100.

In the first raid carried out behind Galeghat Amma Dargah around 5 pm on Tuesday, Kanhan police rounded up four accused gamblers from the spot.

In the second raid, Bela police, after a tip off, laid a trap and arrested two accused busy in gambling.

Similarly, Kalmeshwar cops raided the market area in the town and arrested two accused indulging in gambling activities in the public place.

During the raids, the rural police seized cash, mobile phones, gambling material and four motorcycles collectively worth Rs 1,76,100 from the possession of the seven accused gamblers.

All the accused were booked under Section 12 of Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act and placed them under arrest.
