Rural cops arrest accused absconding from Remand Home, stolen bike seized

A Special Squad of Rural Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested an accused who was absconding from a remand home. The accused was arrested with a stolen motorcycle.

The Crime Branch Squad, during patrolling duty in Kamptee Sub-Division, received a tip-off that a suspicious person was standing in front of Pankaj Wedding Hall on Kamptee-Kalamna Road. The person was standing with stolen Splendour Plus motorcycle. The squad immediately reached the spot and detained the suspicious person and subjected him to questioning. The Crime Branch sleuths found that the motorcycle (MH-31/AY 4270) worth Rs 25,000 was stolen from Kamgar Nagar Square, Jaripatka about one month ago. The accused Shubham Mahesh Ajit (22) was resident of Balaghat District in MP and was sent to Children’s Remand Home in Rajnandgaon in a theft case. However, the accused Shubham was absconding from the Remand Home since the past four years.

Now, the rural cops have booked the accused Shubham Mahesh Ajit under Sections 41(1)(D) of IPC and placed under arrest.
