Nagpur: The lottery draw for the admissions to be done under Right To Education Act (RTE) Act in schools in Maharashtra was held on Wednesday as per schedule. The process of students taking admissions to various schools will begin from April 13.
The draw was conducted in presence of Ranjitsingh Deol, Principal Secretary of School Education and Sports Department and Suraj Mandhre, Education Commissioner. There are 8,828 schools having 1,01,969 seats. The department received 3,64,390 applications. An SMS will be sent on the mobile numbers of the parents whose children got selected for 25% seats under RTE on April 12.
The parents of children who get selected for the admissions will have to get their documents verified at Panchayat Samiti or a Municipal Corporation level authority between April 13 and April 25, 2023. After the confirmation from the scrutiny committee, parents should confirm the admission till April 30, 2023 at the schools allotted to them.
Sharad Gosavi, Director of Education (Primary) said, “The selection process is transparent, so parents should not fall prey to any agents or institutions. The students selected under 25% quota will not get any step-motherly treatment. Schools also should take care of that. The parents of selected wards will receive an SMS; if not they can check on the official website. A student’s name appearing in the list does not mean the students would get admission in desired school,” he clarified.
