RSS withdraws ‘shastrapujan’ word from Dussera invite

Nagpur: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) who always follow on image makeover path has dropped the word Shastrapujan from the invites issued in its annual function to celebrate Dussera.

The Shastrapujan has been an integral part of the grand function organized by RSS every year. Till last year the word was mentioned in the official invites sent by RSS for Vijay Dashami celebrations. The officials involved in organizing the event informed that the word ‘Shastrapujan’ was not mentioned in this year’s invitation card although the event has not been dropped as such.

Mohanish Jabalpure an activist form Mahal area had filled a petition in the disrtict and session court this year regarding the organization openly displaying weapons wihtout hodling a vaild licence. Even, Mohan Bhagwat, RSS chief had displayed a much moderate stance in his statements, last month. During a three day lecture series organized in the capital, he had said that the concept of Hindu Rashtra does not exclude Muslims. he also said the book ‘Bunch of thoughts’ written by RSSs second chief M S Golwalkar categorizing minority communities as enemies was not valid anymore.

“We have just dropped the name Shastrapujan and not the event. It was not included because it is implied that Vijaya Dashmi celebration include worshipping the weapons” informed Rajesh Loya, the city chief of RSS.
