Nagpur: Burglars struck in a big way as booty worth Rs 73 lakh including Rs 13 lakh in cash and gold worth Rs 60 lakh was stolen from a house in Shantinagar police jurisdiction on Sunday, October 30 night.
A resident of Plot No. H3, Mahesh Nagar, Kashyap Colony, Shantinagar, Javed Abdul Razzaq Thara (56), in his complaint told police that he along with family locked the house and went to Kamptee to attend an engagement ceremony about 7.30 pm on Sunday. In the meantime, some unidentified miscreants entered his house by breaking open the lock of the main door. The burglars decamped with Rs 13 lakh cash and gold weighing one and a half kilogram worth Rs 60 lakh kept in an electronic locker in a cupboard. The theft came to notice when Javed returned home around 10.30 pm.
