Nagpur: A team of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Nagpur, busted a coolie who was allegedly involved in black marketing of railway tickets. The action was taken on Tuesday night, but strangely the RPF bosses chose to remain tight-lipped about the matter, a local media report said.
According to the report, the porter whose identity could not be ascertained was found possessing confirmed railway tickets that he was offering on premium to passengers. The RPF recently opened a drive against hoarding of confirmed railway tickets and picked-up the porter from Nagpur Railway Station premises. He seems to be part of a wider network as the porter was selling tickets booked online.
It is well known that some authorised agents of IRCTC corner the confirmed tickets during advance railway reservation period and they are then sold at higher prices. The accused though a licensed porter was never on his designated job and instead used to indulge in black marketing of tickets. After being kept in jail overnight, the porter was produced in the court on the second day i.e. Wednesday where he was released on bail.
