Nagpur: In a major success, Pachpaoli police nabbed five notorious goons involved in a series crimes and foiled an imminent robbery in the wee hours of Wednesday.
A team of Pachpaoli police, led by PSI Anant Wadatkar,PI crime sanjay jadhav was on patrol duty in the small hours of Wednesday. The patrolling team received information that a group of five suspicious persons had gathered in the dark at the lane behind Shiv Mandir, Motibagh.
Acting swiftly, the team rushed to the spot and confronted the miscreants. When asked about the reason behind assembling at the spot at odd hours, the goons fumbled. The police team immediately frisked the accused and found four big knives, a sword, and a nylon rope in the possession of the persons. The goons were planning a robbery with the help of the lethal weapons.
The five goons who have been identified as Indrajit alias Indul Vikram Belpardhi, resident of Panchkua, Vaishalinagar, Namdeo Balkrishna Ninave of Tandapeth, Sukhdeo alias Matlya Mahadeo Nikhare of Vaishalinagar, Rohit Sunil Naharkar of Vaishalinagar and Manish Ramesh Verma of Swaminagar were booked under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC read with Section 4+25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act and placed under arrest.
Interestingly the accused Indrajit Vikram Belpardhi is involved in 16 crimes, Namdeo Ninave six crimes, Sukhdeo Nikhare 19 crimes, Rohit Naharkar 11 crimes and Manish Verma is involved in 6 crimes of serious nature.
The action was carried out by API Suroshe, PSI A K Wadatkar, constables Chintaman Dakhole, Vijay Yadav, NPCs Rajesh Deshmukh, Sariputra Fulzele, Ravishankar Mishra, Vilas Chavan, Vijay Jane, Sunil Wankhede, Mahesh Jadhav, Sumit Bawangade under the guidance of DCP Zone 3 Rahul Maknikar, ACP Walchand Munde and Senior PI Ashok Meshram.
