Restaurant owner threatened in Kalamna

One arrested while cops on the look-out for other accused.

Nagpur: Some criminal elements simply let go of their emotions and end up doing any illegal acts. In one such incident which occurred in Kalamna area, a restaurant owner was threatened by sword wielding goons on June 29, 2015.

According to police sources, some accused entered a restaurant situated in Kalamna area with sharp edged swords and threatened to kill the owner of the restaurant. One of the accused has been arrested. The accused who was nabbed by the Kalamna police is identified as Mangesh Lataru Kadu aged 24 years and a resident of Khandoli.

Sources claimed that the victim Neeta Lanjewar aged 35 years and a resident of Jhansi Rani Square, Pardi was seated in their own Ma Ambe Restaurant (run in their own residence). Suddenly the accused identified as Sarajuddn, Gajju Uikey, Bhavesh Verma, Salman, Santosh, Golu Wagh, Mangesh Kadu and a few other co-accuseds entered the restaurant with sharp-edged swords. The accused had allegedly threatened Neeta Lanjewar. They asked her where is her husband Namdev Lanjewar? They threatened to kill him. The accused had allegedly started creating fright and panic among the other customers.

Meanwhile a police patrol vehicle passed that way. Noticing the police vehicle, the goons started fleeing from the spot. However, the police officials followed them in hot pursuit. One of the accused Mangesh Kadu was nabbed in the pursuit, while the other accused managed to flee.

After the incident, on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim Neeta Lanjewar, Kalamna police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and is investigating further. The cops are on the lookout for the remaining accused.
