Nagpur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received a shot in the arm when Republican Party of Vidarbha declared its support to party candidates in the run up to the Assembly elections. In a letter sent to State BJP President Devendra Fadnavis, the Republican Party of Vidarbha’s National President Vikas Damle and General Secretary Sadanand Fulzele announced their party’s support to BJP for making Maharashtra a strong and efficient State.
In the past 15 years, Maharashtra lagged behind in almost all fronts with irrigation, Lavasa, Adarsh, scams coming to the fore. Maharashtra’s image got a severe beating and people have lost their faith in Democratic Front Government led by Congress-NCP alliance. Farmers’ suicides, unemployment increased while industrial development declined. Maharashtra lagged behind in all significant aspects. Hence, for making Maharashtra a strong and vibrant State the Republican Party of Vidarbha has decided to support BJP,” said General Secretary Sadanand Fulzele in the letter sent to Fadnavis. “Our workers are striving shoulder to shoulder with BJP workers to defeat Congress and NCP in this Assembly election,” added Fulzele.
Fulzele further said that the decision to support BJP was taken in the meeting of Executive Committee attended by party’s National President Vikas Damle, Vice President Avinash Hiwale, Secretary Sonal Upadhyay, other office-bearers.
