Mumbai/Nagpur:
The plight of rehabilitated village Malin created by the first monsoon rains is a clear example of corrupt and apathetic State Government headed by Devendra Fadnavis, said the MPCC General Secretary and Spokesman Sachin Sawant while launching a scathing attack on the BJP Government.

“The Chief Minister had declared the rehabilitated Malin village as Smart Village and an ideal model of rehabilitation at a dedication function held on April 2 this year only. But the shabby condition rendered by the first monsoon rains in this “Smart Village” shows how the hollow words of Fadnavis are.

Following a disaster in which 151 people had lost their lives the State Government had rehabilitated Malin village at the cost of crores. But within two months the rains have left the village in tatters. Walls of houses, stairs, drainage pipes, schools, temples have been damaged. Some roads caved in and some were washed away. Villagers are apprehending collapse of school walls. In sum, the situation is dreadful. Many villagers are living in fear and many have left their homes. The Government only made rooftop claims of rehabilitation. In reality, the rehabilitation work was of poor quality. Corruption took place in massive proportions,” Sawant claimed.

Sawant further said that the Chief Minister had declared that other villages in state would be rehabilitated on the lines of model Malin village. But looking at the plight of Malin village within three months of rehabilitation a big question mark looms over model rehabilitation of Fadnavis Government, he stated sarcastically.
