Record-breaking feat by Khaparkheda Thermal Power Station

The coming March 26 will be the proud day for Khaparkheda Thermal Power Station, the oldest power station of Mahagenco. The first Unit of 210 MW capacity was commissioned on March 26, 1989 and the Unit is completing the bright 26 years on March 26, 2015.

The Unit No. 1, at 11.35 an on March 15, created a powerful record of non-stop generation of electricity since the past 190 days from September 10, 2014. The Unit No. 1 surpassed the its own previous record of non-stop generation of electricity for a period of 182.97 days (April 12, 2006 to October 12, 2006). The unit is still going strong. The extraordinary feat of Unit No. 1 will go on record as the best among all Units of Khaparkheda Thermal Power Station.

The Khaparkheda Thermal Power Station officials, engineers, employees and labourers led by Chief Engineer Umakant Nikhare strived hard to continuously improve electricity generating operation process and also reduced the proportion of non-functioning all Units.

The Chairman and Managing Director of Mahagenco Bipin Shrimali, Director (Operations) Vijay Singh, Director (Projects) Chandrakant Thotve, Executive Director (Operations) Anil Nandanwar have congratulated the Chief Engineer Umakant Nikhare and his entire team for the record-breaking feat.
