Nagpur: Two days National Conference on Recent Trends in Chemical Engineering and Technology was concluded in the presence of Chief Guest of the valedictory function of REACT-2K16 Dr. D.K. Agrawal, Director BCUD, RTMNU and the guest of Honour V.V. Andulkar, Deputy Director, Industrial Health and Safety, Govt. of Maharashtra and Ashok Rathi, Managing Director, CDET Explosives Pvt Ltd, Nagpur. Dr. R.B. Mankar, Director, LIT, Nagpur and Chairman (REACT-2016), Dr.R.P.Ugwekar, Convenor, Dr. B.A. Bhanvase, Convenor were present on the dais. The National Science was also celebrated on this occasion. LIT is proudly associated with “ Swachcha Bharat” Abhiyan of the Govt. of India.
Dr. G.D. Nageshwar former Director LIT graced the conference by his motivating presence. Anantrao Kamathikar the great grandson of Raobahadur D. Laxminarayan always makes it a point to be present in LIT functions. P.G. Shende, Secretary and Dr. P.N. Belkhode, Treasurer along with all Heads of the Departments were also present on the occasion.

Before the valedictory function the key note address of Prof. A.S. Moharir from IIT Mumbai was delivered on “ Chemical Process Industry : An overview” , in which he has explained various stages of process development and the role of Chemical Engineers to be accomplished.
Dr. B.R. Bhanvase summarised the deliberations of the two-day national conference. There were 54 faculty research papers, 92 student research papers and 50 posters. The paper presentations were conducted around the clock on the campus in five parallel sessions. He also thanked all the delegates who came from across the nation to be a part of REACT’16.
Vinod Andulkar addressed the gathering. He urged everyone to take utmost care regarding safety at work.

Ashok Rathi said that the teachers nurture the students to develop overall personality. Dr. D. K.Agrawal said, that knowledge alone is not important, our perspective as to how we see the world today is essential and needs to be upgraded. He has extended his best wishes and support for the next year’s planned International REACT conference.

Dr. R.B. Mankar gave the presidential address. He rightly quoted that LIT is not just a college; rather, it’s a temple of learning. He emphasised on the importance of REACT’16 which is to make the undergraduate students acquainted with a research environment so that more and more students will opt for a career in research. He ended his speech with the note that one should always aim high.
Certificate of Excellence with cash prizes were given to the winning students team for various events. In the category of paper presentation for Chemical Engineering the winners are Abhijit Tapise, Mayur Gaikwad, Chandrakant Bhande ( First Prize): Kunal Sharma , Rishabh Shukla ( Second Prize): Kanksah Khandelwal, Shashwati Kar, Chaitra Borkar (Third Prize): Deboghya Halder , Sumagna nanda ( Consolation Prize). Prizes winners in various Technologies are Karishma Mahajan, Sainath Kale (First) & Shruti Chaudhary (Second) [Surface Coating], Shubham Katre, Rucha Mendhe, Mrunalini Padole [Plastic & Polymer], Brijula Dhoke, Ankit Hote[ Petroleum Refining & Petrochemicals], Ashish Chourasia [Paper & Pulp], Mrinali Biwalkar [Food ].
In poster winners are Shreya Singh, Disha Nandanwar( First), Omkar Joshi ( Second), Ankit Choudhari (Third), Abhay Pote, Aman Singh Chauhan, Amish Tidke ( Third).
Quiz winners are Chautra Borkar, Rishabh Shukla ( First), Nikhil Khandre( Second).
In Faculty section the best peer reviewed papers will be published in Apple Academic Press, Canada.

The vote of thanks were proposed by D. R.P. He expressed that the success belongs to the team work.
