Nagpur:
Since the time of their appointment, around two decades back, the contract based employees of ‘Rashtriya Chemical Fertilizers’ still await perquisites of Provident Fund and Employees State Insurance Scheme. They have also never been provided the minimum salary, as fixed by the Central Government.

The situation has dawned since end of direct recruitment of these employees for past two decades. Even after several complaints, no action has been taken by the authorities. In fact, the administration has been found to be having an inclination towards the officers responsible for the present fate of employees. Many of the contract based employees (Office attendant, Lab attendant, Drivers, Computer Operators et cetera), are on the verge of retirement, if the perks are not granted to them any time soon, they may have to face serious problems.

The Indian Worker’s Union had already written to Commissioner of Provident Fund Office complaining about the matter and demanded a deposition of pending amount. Even a direction was given by Central Labour Enforcement Officer, Meenal Tajnekar to provide complete information about the case. Also, based on complaint filed by Hemant Kumar, a full detail of employees (from 1989 to 2017) was demanded from the company by Regional Employees Provident Fund Office. However, the company had a null response on the same. As is envisaged a total amount of nearly 2.5 crore is pending for being granted to deserving employees.
