Looks like the makers of 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, are going all out in taking director Shankar’s magnum-opus to every nook and corner of the world. After starting the international promotions with a giant hot-air balloon in the United States, the filmmakers have grand events to unveil the audio, teaser and trailer of the film in the run-up to its theatrical release.
According to reports, the teaser will be launched at a grand event in Hyderabad on November 22. The trailer will be unveiled on December 12, coinciding with Rajinikanth’s birthday.
The music album of 2.0, composed by Mozart of Madras AR Rahman, will be released in Dubai on October 27. As per a report in Firstpost, “the event be held at Dubai’s Burj Park — a sprawling 11,300 sq metre lawn just a stone’s throw away from the 160-storeyed Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world.” The event is said to cost Rs 12 crore for the producers.
The filmmakers will start shooting the remaining song of 2.0 in Chennai from tomorrow even as the post-production of the BFX heavy film is going on in a full swing.
“The filmmakers will start organising promotional events from October. The makers are also planning different types of promotions state-wise down south, which will go on until December end. And from January first week, the makers will ramp up the promotional activities across India,” a source in Lyca Productions told indiaexpress.com.
Lyca Production is bankrolling the sequel to 2010 blockbuster Enthiran at the cost of more than Rs 400 crore, making it the second most expensive film in Asia.
2.0 will hit the screens on January 25, 2018.
