Nagpur News: In a major boost for international connectivity from Nagpur, Qatar Airways is set to reinstate its direct flights between Nagpur and Doha effective May 21, 2026. The return of the much-awaited service comes as a relief for business travelers, students, tourists, and the large number of Vidarbha residents with connections to Gulf countries.
The Nagpur–Doha route had witnessed disruptions and temporary suspension in recent months due to geopolitical tensions in West Asia and operational changes affecting Qatar Airways’ international network. Earlier reports had suggested uncertainty around the route’s future, with suspension extensions being announced till September.
However, fresh developments now indicate that Qatar Airways has decided to bring back the service much earlier than expected, restoring Nagpur’s direct international access to one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs — Hamad International Airport.

The Doha connection is considered strategically important for Central India, as it offers seamless one-stop connectivity from Nagpur to Europe, North America, the Middle East, and several global destinations through Qatar Airways’ extensive international network.
According to previously published schedules, the route was expected to operate multiple times a week using Airbus A320 aircraft. Earlier operational schedules had included QR590 from Doha to Nagpur and QR591 from Nagpur to Doha.
Travel industry stakeholders in Vidarbha had repeatedly expressed concern over the suspension, stating that the direct international flight significantly improved Nagpur’s global accessibility and supported both tourism and business movement. Reports in April had hinted that services could resume soon after ongoing regional tensions stabilized.

Qatar Airways had earlier expanded Nagpur operations over the years, even planning increased frequencies on the route due to growing demand.
