Public hearing on Maratha reservation issue in city on April 11

Nagpur: Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission has organised a public hearing to know the Maratha community’s educational and economic backwardness status on April 11. The public hearing will be held before Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission Chairman Justice (retired ) M G Gaikwad, at Ravi Bhavan from 11 am to 5 pm.

During the hearing the information regarding Maratha community’s social, educational, economic backwardness will be collected in form of memorandums submitted by persons, organisations and social bodies. Along with Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission Chairman, others to be present are Expert Member Dr Sarjerao Nimse, Member Secretary D D Deshmukh, members Prof Chandrashekhar Deshpande, Dr Dattaraya Balsaraf, Pramod Yewale, Rohidas Jadhav, Sudhir Thakare, Dr Suvarna Rawal, Prof Raja Karpe, Dr Bhushan V Kardile.

Written evidence, historical information through memorandums should presented before the commission by persons, organisations and bodies from within the Nagpur revenue area, the State Backward Class Commission Member Secretary D D Deshmukh stated.
