Nagpur News: Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI organized Half Day Seminar on SME Industrial Growth and Advantages at Vidarbha at ICAI Bhavan, Dhantoli, Nagpur where  Vikas Jain, Jt. Director of Industries, Nagpur Region was the Guest and Speaker. While speaking as Chief Guest at inaugural function of the seminar  Jain said that government has announced various types of schemes for the development of backward areas and sectors of the state. In 2005 government came with mega project policy along with development of MSME sector. Government has announced various type of scheme from time to time. Basis of any industrial policy is to attract investors in backward areas of state to encourage development in such areas. PSI 2013 is best scheme announced by government for MSME sector. Even non-viable scheme can also find exit way under this scheme. Chartered Accountants are the true guide to the Industrial Houses seeking benefit of the scheme, he further said. He appreciated the role of Chartered Accountants in creating awareness amongst common public regarding various such schemes of the government. These types of program also will grow the knowledge of CAs with government policies and help them to cater to the need of the investors, he further added. He also extended all support to the CAs from District Industries Centre.

CA. Julfesh Shah, Regional Council Member in his remarks said that there were uncertainties in the announcement of package scheme of incentives. This scheme has opened new area of practice for young CAs. Research paper from WIRC is proposed over the scheme to give brief input about various intricacies involved in the PSI -2013 Scheme. He appealed members to give their inputs over the scheme so that proper representation can be made & required suggestions can be submitted with authorities, he added. He also update the members over WIRC happenings and various other matters.

Earlier Chairman of Nagpur Branch CA. Swapnil Agrawal in his welcome address said that Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of India’s economic system. It is observed that SMEs organizational structure is relatively simple and the accounting and internal control settings are not standardized.  The State of Maharashtra has declared the new Industrial, policy to ensure sustained industrial growth through initiatives for development of key potential sectors. The policy envisages grant of fiscal incentives to achieve higher & sustainable economic growth with emphasis on balanced Regional Development through greater public & private investment in industrial development. To update our members over the same, this half day seminar is organized, he further added. He informed the members over forth coming events of the branch like CAPL, Internal Audit Seminar, All Vidarbha Mega Seminar, etc..

In the technical session also Shri Vikas Jain, Jt. Director of Industries, Nagpur Region presented the paper on “Advantage Vidarbha for SME- The way ahead and Latest developments on Industrial Policies” and CA. G.B. Modi, renowned faculty from Dhule presented paper on “PSI 2007 vis-avis 2013, Advantages for MSME Units, Large Scale Units and Mega Units”. Both the speakers resolved various queries of the participants in most effective manner.

CA. Swapnil Ghate co-ordinate the proceeding and CA. Kirti Agrawal, Secretary of the Branch proposed formal vote of thanks.
