Nagpur: One of the computer operators, participating in morcha agitation under the banner of Maharashtra Rajya Sanganak Parichalak Sanghatna since December 15 to press for their various demands, died of illness on Tuesday evening. Identified as Rahul Gajanan Chokhandre (32), resident of Aajni, Ramtek, the deceased was working as computer operator in Aajni Gram Panchayat.

The deceased Rahul Chokhandre participated in the massive morcha taken out by Maharashtra Rajya Sanganak Parichalak Sanghatna on Tuesday, December 15. A day before, Rahul had suddenly taken ill and fainted. He was taken to Mayo Hospital by other participants of morcha. However, after initial treatment, Rahul recovered from his illness and personally participated in the December 15 morcha. But on the advice of his colleagues, Rahul returned home for rest. However, Rahul’s health started deteriorating on Tuesday and was admitted in Nagardhan Primary Health Centre. The doctors there advised Rahul be shifted to Ramtek hospital. But after observing Rahul’s health getting worse, the Ramtek doctors referred him to Nagpur’s Government Medical College and Hospital.

Unfortunately, it was too late as Rahul died soon after reaching GMCH while undergoing treatment.

Ironically, Rahul Chokhandre’s wife is pregnant. News of Rahul’s death soon reached other participants of the morcha and appall of gloom descended at Tekdi Road where the protesters are camping since December 15. The protesters were on two occasions lathi-charged by cops when the morchas they had taken out turned violent.
