Nagpur: A strong UP Yoddha team got the Bengaluru Bulls by 32-27 in a crucial match of the Vivo Pro kabaddi league here.
The Yoddha team riders, on an all-round effort led by star player Nitin Tomar, who logged nine points, managed to win the match.
The Bulls after a poor first half bounced back well and pushed the opponent. For the Bulls, it was Rohit Kumar’s effort which stood out. With 11 points, he was the star but a forgettable first half proved to be Bengaluru’s undoing.
In the first half, UP Yoddha started strong and took a lead of. The team’s star player Nitin Tomar was not at his very best. UP opened their account with bonus point and from that point on, looked strong and kept the Bulls on the back foot.
UP did everything in their power to maintain their lead and it seemed an uphill task for Bengaluru to make a comeback in the match.
The Bulls, undeterred by the big deficit they faced after the first half, fought back bravely. It was largely on the basis of Rohit Kumar’s single-handed effort, so to speak.
