Musical journey of C. Ramachandra takes audience for a nostalgic ride

The melodious life image of C. Ramachandra, filled the minds of audience at the musical event ‘A nostalgic journey of C. Ramachandra’ organised by Chitnavis Centre on Sunday. The audience revived not only the nostalgic songs of Ramachandra but also got to listen to musicologist Kushal Gopalka. He, in the event, narrated the musical journey of legendary composer.

All present at the occasion enjoyed the old forgotten melodies which were played from Gopalka’s collection.

Audience at the event were all bit by the nostalgia bug since the first song ‘Aana meri jaan Sunday k Sunday’, which continued till the last one. Several hits from his composing were played.

Ramchandra Narhar Chitalkar (12 January 1918 – 5 January 1982) was a renowned music composer in the movie industry of India. He often sang and acted in Marathi movies under the name R. N. Chitalkar. For his career as an occasional playback singer he used only his surname Chitalkar. Chitalkar sang some renowned and unforgettable duets with Lata such as Kitna haseen hai mausam in film Azad or Shola Jo bhadke in Albela.
