An Induction Programme was held for newly admitted students to first year at Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology on August 1, 2014. The day also had a special significance of being the death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak who is a guiding spirit behind LTJSS (Lokmanya Tilak Jankalyan Shikshan Sansth) of which PIET is a prominent institute. On this occasion Dr. S.N. Rao, Coordinator First Year, imbibed upon students the virtue of creativity and self learning. Dr. Rozina Rana, Head of Human Excellence Department of LTJSS, highlighted the importance of soft skills in modern education.

Dr. Vivek Nanoti, Principal of the institute elaborated upon how students can extract the most out of their teachers through total surrender. He spoke at length on how such an approach can facilitate determined pursuits of knowledge and research. Mrs. Aparna Bhake proposed vote of thanks. The programme was successfully compered by Dr. Maithili Barahate and Mrs. Bhumika Agrawal. The programme was followed by visit of students and their parents, who attended the programme in large number, to various laboratories and facilities at PIET.
