Nagpur: As per the news published in DNA, to ensure that there is no repeat of the recent Nagpur jail break, some officers of the home department and state jails are on a visit to Israel to study the security system in their prisons.

Sources in government claim that Israel’s security arrangements are considered fool-proof and one of the best in the world.

“Israel’s security system has caught the attention of our chief minister who visited the country earlier this year. He invited senior officials from the company that had provided the security system to the Israel jails to Maharashtra. They soon turned up to give us a detailed presentation. Now, to take things forward, our officials have gone to Israel,” said a senior officer.

Sources said that ever since the jail break in March this year, Fadnavis has been keen on beefing up security system in all the jails of Maharashtra. In April, home the department hired a private Information Technology (IT) firm to audit nine central jails for security lapses. The company has been asked to give innovative ideas to enhance jail security.
