The State of Bihar is fast approaching towards becoming a poll battleground. The fight appears to be not only bigger but historical this time. With the election commission expected to announce Bihar assembly poll schedule anytime now, it appears certain that state’s new government will be formed before the nation goes into festive mood i.e. Diwali.
This time entire nation is resting their eyes on the ‘kurukshetra’ (battle ground) of Bihar poll ‘yudh’ (battle) as a fierce contest is expected between the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JD(U)-RJD-Congress grand alliance. The polling for the high-pitched battle is expected to commence in mid-October and end by first week of November.

Six major Left parties on Monday joined hands to contest the forthcoming Bihar Assembly Elections and vowed to fight the BJP-led NDA.
The six Left parties which joined hands include the Communist Party of India (CPI), CPI(M), CPI(ML), Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI)(Communist), All India Forward Bloc and Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and are currently in the process of finalising the seat-sharing for the 243-member Assembly.
In a jolt to Nitish-led alliance, ‘insulted’ Samajwadi Party on Monday declared that it will contest all the 243 Assembly seats in Bihar.
SP targeted both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the alliance of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United and the Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad.
In an attempt to woo the voters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a humongous Rs 1.25 lakh crore economic package for poll-bound Bihar and also fulfilled the long-awaited demand of armed forces veterans by announcing the ‘One Rank One Pension’ (OROP) scheme.
