Delhi/Nagpur: In yet another operation along the Indo-Myanmar border, the India Army has killed three People’s Liberation Army (PLA) terrorists, as per a report on Monday.
As per India Today news channel, the Indian Army carried out the surgical strike on Saturday night.
Three PLA terrorists were reportedly killed when they were trying to flee.
The channel also said that the Army brought back the bodies of the terrorists.
However, there has been no official confirmation of the same.
In June this year, the Indian armed forces had carried out surgical operations inside Myanmar to target militant groups believed to be responsible for the deadly ambush in Manipur that killed 18 soldiers of the Army’s 6 Dogra Regiment.
The cross-border operation was the first of its kind and was conducted by special forces of the Indian Army in coordination with the Air Force.
38 Northeast insurgents were believed to have been killed in the strike at that time.
It was said that the plan for the first of its kind operation was chalked out hours after insurgents killed 18 soldiers in an ambush in Chandel area of Manipur on June 4 and got the clearance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the night of June 7, soon after his return from Bangladesh, sources privy of the details had been quoted by news agency as saying.
Special forces personnel were air dropped deep inside the Myanmar territory, closer to the camps of the militants, reports said.
