    Policeman shot by Naxalites; referred to Nagpur for treatment

    Naxlite Attacks on Policeman
    Gadchiroli/Nagpur: In a brutal incident, Ashish, a policeman in Kodgul police was recently shot by Naxalites while he was returning from duty. Considering his critical condition, he has been referred to Orange City Hospital in Nagpur for treatment.

    He was, at first, taken to Primary Hospital in Korchi by the villagers who spotted him. However, later he was sent to Nagpur by army helicopter for proper treatment.

    According to the information received, Ashish and his colleague Maanit Haarami were returning from duty on a bike. After dropping Haarami, he was returning from the forest area when naxalites hiding in nearby bushes shot him blindly. As of now, the policeman is in a critical condition.
