PM said to be unhappy with Naidu over expunging of remark

On Thursday, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu did the unusual thing of expunging a remark made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his congratulatory speech to felicitate Janata Dal-U MP Harivansh on his election as the RS deputy chairman but, according to BJP insiders, the prime minister has not taken kindly to it.

A BJP leader questioned Naidu’s decision, saying, “How can the chair expunge the PM’s remark? That clearly shows he has reservations,” referring to reports that Naidu was not too happy with being made the vice president, believing that he was pushed into it.

According to sources, Harivansh has so far not been allotted any work by his boss, Naidu.

In another development, the vice president has called 20 editors for lunch on Tuesday.

    What’s cooking, did you ask?
