New Delhi: The meeting between a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir opposition parties led by former chief minister Omar Abdullah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has just ended. The meeting which took place in Delhi today impressed upon the Centre the need to start a dialogue “with all stakeholders” to solve the Kashmir crisis.
The delegation – which includes CPM lawmaker Yusuf Tarigami and Congress’ Ghulam Ahmed Mir – met Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi yesterday to convey “the seriousness of the situation”.
Immediately after the meeting, Omar Abdullah said the meeting had gone off well and the PM had accepted the delegation’s suggestions. The delegation had sought an “immediate” ban on pellet guns in J&K and the initiation of dialogue with all stakeholders in tje Kashmir valley immediately.
