Petty issue leads to ugly brawl among boys in Ganeshpeth; 1 arrested, 2 booked

A youth was arrested while others were booked for allegedly attacking two men with a knife and issuing life threatening warnings to them on Sunday. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Ganeshpeth police station.

As per information, Sandeep Verma (25) and his friend Vikky Gour (24) were heading back home on a motorcycle on Sunday at 9 pm in front of the road of Lodipura Woodland Hotel. Seven accused including Monu alias Jitendra Sanjay Khaparde (24), Gaurav Verma, Sonu Bhatija, Govind Verma, Navin Verma, Roshan Verma, Vinit Verma, and their mates put up a brawl with Sandeep and Vikky over driving issues and hurled profanities at their way. The brawl took an ugly turn when the accused took out a knife and attacked the duo. They also thrashed the youths with punches and kicks. The accused also issued life-threatening warnings to the youth.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Sandeep, a resident of Lodipura, Ganeshpeth police have registered an offence under Sections 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, 326, 294, 323, 504, and 506 of the IPC. Monu, a resident of Bajeria Square, Ganeshpeth, has been arrested by the cops while other accused have been booked.
