Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit by Speeding Motorcycle in Kalamna

Nagpur: A 35-year-old pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a speeding motorcycle near Shriram Chowk on Dharam Nagar Road under Kalamna police limits on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Shrichand Kohare (35), a resident of Vijay Nagar, behind Kalamna Market. The tragic incident occurred between 5:30 pm and 6 pm on October 27, when Kohare was walking along the roadside and was hit by a Splendor motorcycle (MH-49 CH 8985) allegedly being ridden at high speed and in a reckless manner.

Kohare sustained severe injuries in the crash and was immediately rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Following a complaint lodged by Sukhwanta Shrichand Kohare (50), the victim’s brother, PSI Giram registered a case against the motorcycle rider under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) read with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act at Kalamna Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
