At the outset, the Mayor greeted those environment lovers who exercised in the Gandhibagh Garden daily in the morning. The Kavi Sammelan started exactly at 7 pm and the atmosphere soon turned hilarious.
In the beginning, Poet Rakesh Verma presented a parody based on filmy songs and sarcastically took digs at social and political tantrums. His rendering was as such:
Holi Aee Re Kanhai Kaise Khelu
Sukhi Hai Nal Ki Totiya
Ab To Bekar Ho Gayi Pichkari
Khali Gulal Se Hi Khelo Girdhari
Nahane Na Dhone Ki Kathnai
Sukhi Hai Nal Ki Totiya…
The presentation drew overwhelming applause.
The Hasya Ras Poet K K Agnihotri, by his pricking creations, ticked the ribs of audience. His creation:
Kafile Se Alag Ho Gaye
Silsile Se Alag Ho Gaye
Jab Gawaho Ki Suchi Bani
Mamle Se Alag Ho Gaye
The hilarious lines too received laud, non-stop clapping.
The lady poet Urmila Shrivastav from Uttar Pradesh presented some traditional songs of varieties.
Pana Hai Shirsh To Pranam Ban Ke Dekhiye
Judna Hai Gati Se To Viram Ban Ke Dekhiye
Nari Ke Har Ek Roop Me Mil Jayegi Sita
Ek bar Aap Bhi To Ram Ban Ke Dekhiye
The rendition was liked by one and all.
Nagpur City’s Dayashankar ‘Maun’ drew JNU controversy with Holi revelry and created the following lines:
Mera Bharat Khel Raha Hai Holi
Antak Ke Mathe Par Roli
Anirban, Khalid, Kanhaya, Owaisi Sab Apne Hai
Phir Deshdroh Ke Nare Kyon Aur Hamse Juda Kyon Sapne Hai
Har Dharma-Varga Jab Sath-Sath Jaise Ki Daman Aur Choli
The audience enjoyed the lines to the hilt.
Itarsi’ Rajendra Malviya Alsi went different and presented his creation his own way.
Maine Pachas Hajar Karod Ki Baat Keval Ek Line Me Hi Bol Di
Dhirubhai Ambani Ne Kaha Tha
Kar Lo India Mutthi Me
Magar Unke Lodko Ne Hi
Mutthi Khol Di
The last punch was provided by Incharge Police Inspector of Police Headquarters of Bhopal Madan Mohan Samar. The patriotic creation tied down the audience even in the light drizzle and was capable of energising today’s youth who have been exhorted to safeguard the country. The lines are:
Yeh Wakt Bahut Hi Najuk Hai
Ham Par Hamle Dar Hamle Hai
Dushman Ka Dard Yehi To Hai
Ham Har Hamle Par Sambhale Hai
Vishwa Patal Par Bharat Ke Sahas Ka Pradarshan Karti Hai
The patriotic words drew standing ovation and non-stop clapping.
The programme was conducted by the Convener of the event Dayashankar Tiwari. A large number of citizens enjoyed the Kavi sammelan.
