Pakistani couple booked for staying in Nagpur with lapsed visas

Nagpur: Two Pakistani citizens of Indian origin were booked by Jaripatka police for staying in India with lapsed visas. The two accused, husband-wife duo, also tried to cheat Passport Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) by submitting forged documents for visa extension.

The accused have been identified as Vikramdas Bhajandas Panchwani and Jaywanti Vikramdas Panchwani, residents of Plot No. 48, Rupam Society, Nara Road, coming under Jaripatka police jurisdiction. The accused couple was staying at the said address between February 28, 2017 and March 26, 2018. The husband-wife duo, despite knowing that their visas lapsed, was staying in India illegally. Moreover, for extension of the lapsed visas, the two accused forged documents and submitted them to Passport Officer and DCP (Special Branch) and thus tried to cheat the authorities.

Jaripatka police constable Lakhan Kanoujiya has booked the accused Vikramdas Bhajandas Panchwani and Jaywanti Vikramdas Panchwani under Sections 420, 468, 471, 34 of the IPC read with Section 14(A) of the Foreigners Act 1946. Further probe is underway. The accused could be deported to Pakistan for illegally staying in the country.
