Over 400 women taken for a ride by Self Employment Centre in Ganeshpeth

nagpur-university-job-scamNagpur: A so-called President of Self Employment Centre took over 400 women for a ride and duped them to the tune of over Rs 2.13 lakh in the name of providing them household jobs.

The accused Siddheshwar Ram Murkute (34), a native of Parbhani District, opened his Adarsh Self Employment Centre at Mendhule’s house near Khobragade Hospital in Ganeshpeth area. With nefarious designs in his mind, the accused Siddheshwar Murkute offered cloth bag manufacturing business to a total of 424 gullible women including the complainant Saroj Daulatrao Lanjewar (24), a tenant of Mendhule. In return, the accused took Rs 400 each from these 424 women totaling Rs 1,69,200.

The accused also took Rs 44,000 from ten other people for cloth cutting job. After collecting the total amount of Rs 2,13,200 from the 400-odd women and 10 others, the accused Siddheshwar Murkute bundled out his office and vanished in the thin airs. When the women and others realized that they were taken for a ride in the name of self-employment job, they approached Ganeshpeth Police and registered a case against the accused.

PSI Parchake has booked the accused Siddheshwar Murkute under Section 420 of IPC and launched a search to nab him.
