The second day of Winter Session witnessed Assembly being adjourned till 1 pm amid Opposition uproar.

As soon as the House assembled at 11 am, the Speaker directed to take up Question Hour. Disobeying the Speaker’s directive, Congress members stood and demanded a special package for appropriate cotton price, starting of paddy procurement, stopping farmers’ suicides, and other issues. However, the Speaker rejected their demand saying a discussion

on drought is slated and directed the Opposition members to calm down. Snubbing the Speaker, the Congress members rushed to the Well and started raising slogans forcing Speaker to adjourn the House for 10 minutes.

At 11.12 am, the Speaker Haribhau Bagde again took up the Question Hour. Again the Congress members demanded special package to farmers and rushed to the Well and raised slogans amid Question Hour. Taking the Opposition head-on, Revenue Minister Eknathrao Khadse intervened and said that the Congress members were creating chaos to save their face after a flop show over yesterday’s morcha. Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said that instead of discussing the farmers’ issues the Opposition is creating ruckus and in a way insulting the farmers. The Congress was ruling the State for 15 years and it is expected that they will follow the Speaker’s directive. Government is serious in mitigating farmers’ problems and still the Congress members are resorting to uproar by rushing to the Well of the House and disrupting the proceedings. It is not good.

However, the Congress members refused to relent and continued uproarious scenes demanding Government announce special package for farmers in the State. Watching the chaos helplessly, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1 pm.
