Operation Shakti exposes flesh trade in Nagpur flat, accused arrested

Nagpur: As part of “Operation Shakti”, an initiative launched under the vision of Nagpur City Police Commissioner to dismantle networks involved in human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, the Crime Branch’s Social Security Division carried out a raid and rescued a victim from a prostitution racket operating in the city.

Acting on specific and reliable information, a Crime Branch team conducted a raid between 4.25 pm and 8 pm on January 12, 2026, at a flat located in Sneha Sanvardhak Cooperative Housing Society, Pandit Malviya Nagar, Khamla Road, under the jurisdiction of Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station.

During the operation, the police caught Amol Ashok Pachpore (46) red-handed while allegedly allowing his premises to be used for prostitution for monetary gain and forcing the victim to engage in commercial sexual activities for customers.

The police successfully rescued one victim girl from the premises. From the possession of the accused, officers seized cash amounting to Rs 3,000, one mobile phone and other materials, collectively valued at approximately Rs 43,030.

Based on the findings, a case has been registered against the accused at Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station under Sections 143(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The accused has been arrested and handed over to the local police along with the seized property for further legal action.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Niketan Kadam, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The raid was led by Police Inspector Rahul Shire and his team of the Crime Branch’s Social Security Division.

Further investigation is underway.
