Nagpur News : In yet another hit-and-run case, a trailer truck hit an active mopet and killed one person while seriously injured another person. According to police, the incidence took place on Tuesday night around 9.30 pm. Complainant Dheeraj Charde and his friend Devendra Khair were going to Astha Hospital on their Activa (MH 49 K 7944). A trailer hit their activa near divider turning in front of Spanco Office, Subhan Nagar, Bhandara Road.
With the impact of the accident, Dheerah and Devendra fell unconscious on the ground. Fearing public wrath and arrested, the driver fled the spot. Commuters informed the police about the incidence. Kalamna Police rushed to the spot and sent Devendra and Dheeraj for treatment to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital. During preliminary check-up, doctors declared Devendra dead while Dheeraj was undergoing treatment.
On the complaint of Dheeraj, Kalamna police registered an offence against the killer driver under relevant sections of the IPC. Further investigations are under way.
