One held for murder of 25-year-old youth over minor argument

Nagpur: Another youth was murdered in the city over a minor altercation. However, the murder occurred in the house of a woman indulging in illicit sale of liquor.

According to police sources, Mamta Fule aged 42 years and a resident of behind Imambada Police Station, Near railway line used to indulge in illicit sale of country liquor.

The Deceased is identified as Dinesh alias Bablu Sharma aged 25 years and a resident of Rambagh area falling under the jurisdiction of Imambada Police Station.  The deceased is said to regularly visit the house of Mamta Fule for consuming liquor. The accused is identified as Akshay Meshram aged 22 years and a friend of the deceased. The accused is said to be perpetually present in the house of Mamta Fule enjoying liquor. According to sources, on October 3, 2016, Akshay had a minor altercation with the deceased Dinesh Sharma when he had gone to consume liquor as usual.

Sources also claimed that around evening, the accused Akshay had stabbed the deceased Dinesh Sharma with a sharp edged weapon inside the house of Mamta Fule and had allegedly dragged the deceased outside the house. When the deceased Dinesh was still alive and bleeding profusely, the accused felt sorry and showing signs of remorse and had allegedly started taking him to the hospital. However, within a few feet, Dinesh fell down dead.

This led Akshay to panic and he fled the scene leaving the dead body on the road. On receipt of information, the cops of Imambada Police Station reached the spot and after completing the formalities, sent the body for post-mortem.

The cops of Detective Branch of Imambada Police Station swung into action and they managed to apprehend the accused Akshay Meshram. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-IV) G Shridhar too reached the crime scene and supervised the action.

According to sources, the family members of Mamta Fule did not like her attitude and so had kept a safe distance from her. Mamta Fule’s first husband is said to have died in 1996 after ailing from some disease. The second husband is said to be undergoing imprisonment in Nagpur Central Jail. Mamta is said to have three sons. One son was allegedly murdered, while the second son is said to be undergoing imprisonment for a murder case and the third son is said to be living in her native village. The cops of Imambada Police Station have registered a case of murder under section 302 of Indian Penal Code and have since arrested the accused.
